Trail Building in Spicewood, TX

Spicewood stretches along the Colorado River and Lake Travis west of Austin — cypress trees, limestone bluffs, and some of the steepest, most scenic terrain in the entire Hill Country. Communities like Briarcliff, Barton Creek Lakeside, and Spicewood Beach have the waterfront access and the ridge terrain to support real trail systems, and the ranch properties out at Paleface Ranch and West Cypress Hills have even more room to work with. We build lakefront access trails, mountain biking singletrack, and private ranch hiking loops here. Those bluffs dropping to the water are beautiful, but they demand careful routing — get it wrong and erosion will undercut the whole thing within a few seasons.
